Google Bans Scam Advertisers

Man wearing a can of spam

I am sorry for the losses from scams that continue on the internet, fertilized by corrupt individuals that form and hide behind company names, whether legit or not.

It is sad that they continue to exist and are allowed by many search engines to blatantly expose their ads and criminal scams to viewers and internet searchers.

Google has just recently announced that it is penalizing the advertisers of some of the ads that are so transparent, trying to eradicate of some of the internet scams.

Google, until this latest action was only targeting individual ads, which is like pouring a bottle of drinking water upon a house fire.

This is a good measure that Google is taking, but it also can have repercussions within the advertising community that is not beneficial.

Some innocent advertisers may and most probably will be suspended or banned from Google by this action.

Because Google is a corporation, not a person. It uses software to detect the advertising mistakes and indiscretions.

The aim is long over due. It is in the end results that we shall see if the effect is transparent, ironclad, or just plain mutilation.

You can read a very short summation of this at: http://consumerist.com

We all need some commitment from the search engines and some responsibility in advertising, but we also need the freedoms that come with the internet and those freedoms need to be taken into account by people, not software that indiscriminately bans ads by the content of the words used in the titles.

This is a positive action that is long overdue, but the instruments that are being used are still in question and remain scrutinized by myself and many others that use the internet for affiliate marketing.

And remember 3 rules for online success:

1. Know or understand how to get your own blog or website set up
2. Know how to implement compelling copy onto your site
3. And know how to get targeted traffic to your site
