The Federal Trade Commission is going after the advertisers and the scam product creators.

The problem lies within the scope of the applications of their newest guidelines.

The individual blogger has to become aware of all of the affiliate products that are being marketed from the site. If there is any question about the veracity of the product then the blogger needs to address this before the FTC or anyone else does.

The main scope of the disclosures are that they can no longer negate what is already displayed on the parent pages or the splash pages of any advertised product.

You can not claim earnings, or testimonials that can not be substantiated by written and recorded records.

The disclaimer is moot, if it differs in any way from the original information.

The disclaimer has been the source of comfort and salvation for everyone, but now its validity is no longer supported by law, if the other claims that are made contradict.

Well...that seems ridiculous. I don't really understand how this is going to affect the advertisers at all...I guess I'll have to write a post about how to write a proper disclosure now...
